Job Description



The Practice Manager (PM) is responsible for the day-to-day operations, administration, and business management of their NATIVE HEALTH clinic. The Practice Manager ensures that the practice runs efficiently, meets quality standards, and delivers accessible, holistic, patient-centered care. The PM models the NATIVE HEALTH values of the C.I.R.C.L.E. for patients and staff. The PM is the liaison between healthcare providers, staff, patients, and external partners, fostering a collaborative and PATIENT-FOCUSED environment. The PM is responsible for recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating their team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. The Practice Manager directs, coordinates, and manages all operations associated with their clinic site.
  2. The Practice manager is accountable for the practice's financial viability.
  3. The Practice Manager collaborates with all levels of administration to promote patient health and safety and supports the clinic's financial, compliance, quality, and human resources objectives.
  4. Supports the organization as needed.

  3. Proficient knowledge of eligibility requirements for the Native Health discount fee program, AHCCCS, Medicare, CMDP, KidsCare, SOBRA, and Private insurance health care coverages.
  4. Proficient knowledge of multilevel funding, including Federal, Tribal, State, third-party insurance, and grants.
  5. Excellent financial management and reporting skills, focusing on cost containment, reimbursement, and collection practices.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with medical staff, representatives of other agencies, clients, and the public.
  7. Practical verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Culturally competent; able to work with a diverse workforce and client population.
  9. Open to change and willing to lead change within the organization.
  10. Professional integrity; excellent work ethic.
  11. Able to manage competing priorities, excellent organizational skills and good time management.

  13. Proficient with computer-based applications such as MS Office, Adobe, registries/medical databases, practice management software, electronic health records, and financial applications.

Qualifications



QUALIFICATIONS

/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred.
  2. Three years of supervisory/management experience required. Two years must be in a Healthcare, Social Services, or Primary Care/Family Medicine setting.
  3. Two years of experience with operational or fiscal oversight of government programs, contracts, and/or grants is required.
  4. Three years of operational experience in a customer/patient-driven environment. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
  5. Experience in NextGen electronic health record (EHR) preferred.

Standard Employment Requirements: 

  1. Must possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if applicant is from out-of-state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license during employment. Must be insurable under NATIVE HEALTH’s liability auto policy.
  2. Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial ninety (90) calendar days of employment and retain a valid card while employed with NATIVE HEALTH.
  3. Must pass substance abuse testing upon employment and submit to random testing during employment.
  4. Must provide an updated immunization (IZ) record at the time of employment.
  5. Must have a current (within 12 months) Tuberculosis (TB) skin report upon employment and provide an annual update.
  6. Must obtain BLS certification within (90) calendar days of employment and maintain certification during employment.
